CHATHAM, ON (Thursday, June 26, 2014): Last night, the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) followed by its Annual Donor Appreciation Event at The Frank & Mary Uniac Auditorium (at CKHA’s Chatham Campus). This event was an evening to celebrate the generosity of Foundation of CKHA supporters and to recognize their contributions to local healthcare through the efforts of the Foundation of CKHA.

Donor Appreciation Event

Approximately 75 Foundation of CKHA supporters were in attendance to recognize the achievements of 30 donors who were honoured at the Donor Appreciation Event. Of the 30 donors, 17 are donors who have given more than $5,000 and the remaining are individuals and organizations who have achieved the next giving level through the Foundation of CKHA’s Donor Recognition Program.

At this year’s event, long-time Foundation of CKHA volunteer, Janet Cook, was presented with the Outstanding Volunteer Award and Elston Pharmacy Ltd. and Mares Insurance Services Inc. were presented with Outstanding Sponsor Awards.

The Foundation of CKHA is pleased to announce that at last night’s AGM, Holly Thompson-Dolsen was elected to the Foundation of CKHA’s Board of Directors.

I would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Tom McGregor, Cheryl Newbury and Mark Spencer for their generous donation of time and talents to the Foundation of CKHA’s Board of Directors. Campaign Updates

CKHA X-Ray Equipment Campaign… for the Sydenham Campus

In December 2013, the Foundation of CKHA completed the $500,000 CKHA X-Ray Equipment Campaign… for the Sydenham Campus. This new x-ray equipment features state-of-the-art technology that is providing CKHA’s Radiologists with crisper digital images, leading to more accurate reports and ultimately, enhanced care for patients.

Many thanks to the very generous individuals and organizations who supported this important campaign.

CKHA’s Highest Priority Needs

The Foundation of CKHA’s ongoing priority is to support CKHA’s Highest Priority Needs, including the purchase of much-needed capital equipment and the updating of facilities and services at both the Chatham and Sydenham Campuses – all of which are not supported through government funding. With deep budget cuts and an ever-changing and increased need for service, providing support for CKHA’s basic needs is an important priority and a commitment that needs to be met to ensure continued quality local healthcare.
