June 8th, 2006 Club Lentinas 4:30 pm: Reception - 6:30 pm: Dinner

Special Guest: Speaker and Humourist, Tricia Hasenclever, is here to help us revive our ability to Learn with Laughter. Visit the web site for more information about Tricia.

"The name Learn with Laughter comes from my belief that almost everything in life can be funny. If we can learn to laugh at ourselves, even in our moments of challenge and crises, then there is no limit to what else we can learn with laughter." Tricia Hasenclever

For Outstanding Athletic & Academic Achievement for Graduating Students in Chatham-Kent.

Male & Female Sponsored by ProResp/ProHealth Nominee Meals provided by Downtown Chatham Rotary Club.

In 1994, this prestigious award was established to honour the male and female graduating students who have attained outstanding athletic and academic achievement in Chatham-Kent.

The award is named in honour of Dr. Jack Parry, a well-known Chatham anaesthetist, who excelled in athletics, medicine, serving his country and care for his family. Dr. Parry was inducted into the City of Windsor Sports Hall of Fame, University of Western Ontario Sports Hall of Fame and was a member of the 1948 Canadian Olympic Team. Dr. Parry was awarded the Canadian outstanding make track athlete award in 1948 and was the MVP on Western’s Mustang Football team.  He was a member of the London Majors baseball team and was scouted by the Cleveland Indians. Dr. Parry was a starting halfback for the RCAF Hurricanes who won the 1942 Grey Cup. During World War II, he was a pilot on a Lancaster and completed 38 missions. Dr. Parry was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for Bravery beyond the Call of Duty. He was a modest, unpretentious man who exemplified the best of the human spirit.

The Dr. Jack Parry Award, sponsored by ProResp/ProHealth, provides a $1,000 scholarship to each award winner. Nominees for the male and female candidates are encouraged from all secondary schools in Chatham-Kent. A selection committee of local residents choose the winners.
